Cooling tower disinfection

The bacterium Legionella pneumophila can cause a disease also known as legionnaire’s disease, a serious pulmonary infection. It proliferates in water systems when temperature is between 20 and 45ºC.

Therefore without cooling tower disinfection, these systems, including air conditioning and whirl pool systems are often contaminated. The inhalation of air droplets containing this bacterium is responsible for a possibly lethal infection.

The omnipresence of Legionella in surface waters makes cooling tower disinfection a necessity in order to protect the public from this disease.

So Halamid® should be your first choice in cooling tower disinfection against Legionella pneumophila because of its efficacy against the bacterium and non corrosiveness against materials, practised for routine applications and/or emergency treatment.
