Disinfection by oxidation based on chloramine-T

Halamid® is an oxidizing product based on Chloramine-T. Its action is based on an irreversible destruction of the envelope and cell material of microorganisms by Chloramine-T. This disinfection by oxidation ensures that microorganisms are effectively killed and do not have a chance to develop resistance to Halamid®.

Some bacteria are prone to develop resistance to certain disinfectants, in particular with some quaternaries ammonium compounds. In applications such as food industry and hospitals where disinfectants are used on a daily basis, this is obviously a major problem not encountered with the Chloramine-T based Halamid® .
